Pakistani security forces reportedly raided the home of a slain Baloch resistance fighter in Turbat’s Gogdan area, vandalising property, assaulting family members and issuing threats.
Local sources said the incident took place late on Wednesday night, when a large contingent of security personnel surrounded the neighbourhood and sealed all entry and exit points. Drones were reportedly seen hovering over residential buildings throughout the night, causing fear among residents.
Family members of Nabeel Ahmed Hoth alleged that troops forcibly entered their home, ransacked rooms and subjected women and children to physical violence.
“They beat our family members and told us we would suffer for Nabeel’s actions,” said one relative, speaking on condition of anonymity due to security concerns.
Local residents condemned the raid and described it as a violation of basic human rights. “These kinds of raids are not about security. They are meant to terrorize families and punish them collectively,” said one local elder.
Nabeel Hoth was killed in April during a clash with Pakistani forces in the Dank area of Turbat. Two other fighters, Zakaullah and Feroz, were also killed in the same incident.
According to the families, security forces took custody of the bodies and transferred them to a military camp. Authorities later buried the three men in a local cemetery without shrouds.
The families staged a sit-in protest in Turbat, demanding the return of the bodies. When they attempted to exhume them, they were allegedly met with force by Pakistani police.
The incident drew criticism from human rights groups and activists, who called on authorities to respect the families’ legal and religious rights.
