The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) said on Tuesday it had submitted the cases of three forcibly disappeared Baloch women to the missing persons commission and the Balochistan government, as its protest camp outside the Quetta Press Club continued for the 6,316th day.

VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said the cases of Rafia Bibi, Tania and Javeria had been submitted to the commission’s head office in Islamabad, Balochistan Home Minister Zia Langove, the Balochistan Home Department and the deputy registrar of the commission’s Balochistan chapter.

He said the purpose of submitting the cases was to draw the attention of the relevant institutions and request practical measures for the women’s early recovery.

Rafia Bibi, Tania and Javeria, who belong to the Nechari tribe, were reportedly detained at the Lak Pass FC checkpoint near Quetta on July 30 and moved to an undisclosed location.

Their family has said no information has been provided about their whereabouts and that they have not been informed of the reasons for their detention.

Nasrullah Baloch expressed hope that the missing persons commission and government authorities would play an effective role in ensuring their recovery.

He said that if the women faced any allegations, they should be produced before a court in accordance with the law, so that the uncertainty faced by their families could come to an end.
