Five more Baloch men have reportedly been forcibly disappeared from Balochistan and Sindh, while the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) protest camp against enforced disappearances in Quetta continued for the 6,311th day on Thursday.

Haibatan Marri, an elderly resident of Lasbela and son of Malo Marri, was reportedly taken into custody by Pakistani forces at Bela Cross on July 9 and later moved to an undisclosed location. His whereabouts remain unknown.

Meanwhile, two men from Karachi’s Malir area were reported missing after separate detentions on July 29.

Younus Baloch, 24, son of Anwar and a resident of Haji Shah Ali Goth in Sharafi, Malir, Karachi, was reportedly detained from the Ibrahim Shah Poultry Farm in Tando Allahyar at around 10:00pm on July 29.

His family said Younus Baloch is a farmer by profession and was detained by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel. His whereabouts remain unknown.

In another case, Abdul Majeed, 35, son of Haji Ghulam Mohammad and a resident of Haji Washdal Goth, Malir No. 8, Karachi, was reportedly detained from Shahrah-e-Bhutto at around 10:30pm on July 29.

His family said Abdul Majeed is a plumber and was returning from work when Rangers personnel took him away.

Separately, Kifayatullah Baloch, 20, son of Safar Khan Baloch and a resident of Sarawan Town in Mastung, was reportedly detained from Mangochar, Kalat, on June 10.

His family said Kifayatullah Baloch is a shopkeeper and was detained by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel. He remains missing.

Three men reportedly forcibly disappeared from Karachi and Kalat.

In Kech district, Naneeb Baloch, son of Muneer Ahmed, a 19-year-old resident of Kalatuk in Turbat, was reportedly forcibly disappeared after being detained from his home at around 4:00am on July 12.

His family said Frontier Corps (FC) personnel took him away, adding that they had received no information about him since.

The latest cases emerged as the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) continued its protest camp against enforced disappearances outside the Quetta Press Club for the 6,311th day on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said enforced disappearances continued in Balochistan, leaving numerous families waiting for the return of their loved ones for years.

He demanded the immediate recovery of all forcibly disappeared persons, adding that those facing any allegations should be presented before courts and dealt with in accordance with the law.

Nasrullah Baloch said it was the state’s responsibility to take effective and practical measures to end enforced disappearances and ensure justice for the families of missing persons in accordance with the Constitution and the law.
