The Baloch Students Organization (BSO) said on Tuesday that its central chairman, Jihand Baloch, has been recovered 10 days after he was detained from his home in Quetta and moved to an undisclosed location.

In a statement, a BSO spokesperson said Baloch was taken from his home during the night between July 24 and 25, adding that neither his family nor the organisation was provided with any information about him while he remained missing.

The BSO said this was the third time Jihand Baloch had been subjected to enforced disappearance.

According to the organisation, Pakistani forces had previously forcibly disappeared him along with his father, Qayyum Baloch, and his brother, Hasnain Baloch. The organisation said Jihand Baloch and his father were later released.

The BSO said Hasnain Baloch’s detention was later acknowledged in connection with various cases, and that he has remained in custody in Karachi for the past eight years.

The spokesperson said Younus Baloch, a BSO zonal organiser detained in Quetta on July 25, has still not been produced publicly.

The BSO demanded Younus Baloch’s immediate recovery and said all detained political activists should be produced before a court if there were any charges against them.
