A Baloch man was allegedly forcibly disappeared from the coastal city of Gwadar in Balochistan on Tuesday. This incident marks the second time the man has gone missing, having been previously detained in past years.

According to reports, Pakistani forces forcibly took away a man named Muslim, son of Muhammad Raheem, a resident of Dasht Shuleeg area in the Kech district.

Sources state that two days ago, Pakistani forces forcefully arrested the man in front of bystanders at a crowded market.

It is pertinent to mention that Muslim Raheem had previously been a victim of enforced disappearance in June 2018. He was later found in a severely compromised state, having been released half-dead. During his detention, one of his kidneys failed allegedly due to severe torture. Subsequently, the victim’s family had relocated him to Karachi for treatment. However, he has now reportedly disappeared again at the hands of Pakistani forces.

This incident adds to the grim reality of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, which are reported on a daily basis. Many individuals remain missing from various areas of Balochistan, with some being released after enduring severe torture, only to live with physical and mental illnesses. Some succumb to their injuries, while others face re-arrest upon release.

International human rights organizations, including the United Nations and Amnesty International, as well as the families of the victims, consistently accuse Pakistani forces of being responsible for these enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
