The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said its fighters killed 97 Pakistani military personnel, seriously wounded 15 others and killed five alleged informants in 48 operations across 23 areas of Balochistan during July.
In a monthly operational report, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the operations targeted the Pakistani military and other state forces, military and economic installations, communication systems and surveillance infrastructure.
According to the statement, the attacks were carried out in Mastung, Khuzdar, Basima, Mand, Tump, Kahan, Chagai, Kharan, Kalat, Gomazi, Jhao, Quetta, Zamuran, Surab, Mashkel, Buleda, Karachi, Pasni, Rakhni, Naal, Khudan, Balnegwar and Mashkay.
The BLF said the purpose of the attacks was to paralyse what it described as the “colonial structure” of the Pakistani state in Balochistan, halt the exploitation of resources and weaken its military control.
The group claimed that 97 Pakistani military personnel were killed and 15 seriously wounded during the month, while five alleged informants and agents were also targeted and killed, bringing what it described as the enemy’s total personnel losses to 117.
Gwahram Baloch described the July 22 attack on a large Pakistani military convoy at Macro Stop in Mastung’s Khadkocha area as the month’s largest and deadliest operation.
The spokesperson claimed that 17 Pakistani military personnel were killed and 10 wounded in the Mastung attack, while the convoy also suffered heavy material damage.
The BLF said its fighters also established blockades and took control at nine points on key highways during July, with the aim of disrupting military supply routes and maintaining what the group described as military dominance in the area.
Seven Pakistani military convoys were ambushed and subjected to personnel and material losses, the statement said, adding that BLF fighters also carried out coordinated attacks on six major military camps and seven checkpoints.
On the technical and material front, the BLF claimed its fighters destroyed two drones used for aerial reconnaissance and surveillance, as well as three ground surveillance cameras.
The group further claimed that 15 Pakistani military vehicles were destroyed during operations and explosions, while five modern weapons were seized from Pakistani personnel.
The statement said the BLF used different guerrilla tactics during July, including 16 attacks with heavy weapons, eight ambushes, five intelligence-based covert operations, four sniper attacks, two grenade launcher attacks, two IED attacks and one hand-grenade attack.
“These diverse and lethal attacks highlight the organisation’s high military skill, successful planning and capacity to fight under all kinds of conditions,” the statement said.
Major Gwahram Baloch said the BLF would continue its operations with “regularity, innovation, diversity and greater intensity” until what he described as the complete freedom and sovereignty of Balochistan.
