Unidentified armed individuals carried out an attack on a residential quarter near the Fish Harbour Jetty in Gwadar district, resulting in the deaths of 7 individuals and injuries to one person.

The dead bodies and injured individuals were transfered to Gwadar Hospital, Police said.

According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gwadar, the attack on the residential area near the Gwadar Fish Harbour Jetty occurred at 3 a.m. on Thursday. This incident took place 25 kilometers away from Gwadar city.

The deceased and injured individuals are reported to be from Khanewal district of Pakistan’s Punjab province.

Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack in Gwadar, expressing deep sorrow and regret over the deaths of 7 individuals. Naqvi stated that they stand with the grieving families in this time of sorrow.

Balochistan Home Minister Mir Zia Langove also condemned the killing of the mentioned individuals and requested a report on the incident. He stated that the murder of these people is an act of open terrorism and vowed to deal with terrorists firmly.

Langove mentioned that a thorough investigation into the incident is underway, and those involved in terrorism will be brought to justice.

A spokesperson for the Balochistan government stated that an inquiry into the incident has been ordered, and they are in contact with the district administration. They are also reaching out to the families of the deceased individuals.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for this attack in Gwadar.
