The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) and United Baloch Army (UBA) have claimed responsibility for separate attacks in Balochistan and Sindh, including attacks on electricity towers, a government office and a Pakistani military checkpost.
In a statement issued to the media, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said the group’s fighters planted explosives at two 220kV electricity towers near Chattar in Balochistan’s Naseerabad district on Tuesday night and detonated them, adding that both towers were severely damaged in the blast.
In a separate statement, Dostain Baloch said BRG fighters also planted explosives at an agriculture office in Dhadar, in Kachhi district, on 9 August, describing the office as being used by what he called the “occupying Pakistani state” to damage Balochistan’s agriculture. He added that the explosion caused severe damage to the building.
The BRG spokesperson further said the group’s fighters blew up electricity towers near Shikarpur in Sindh on Monday night, causing severe damage to two towers.
Dostain Baloch said the BRG claimed responsibility for the attacks, adding that such operations would continue “until the complete independence of Balochistan.”
Separately, UBA spokesperson Mazar Baloch said in a statement issued to the media that the group’s fighters targeted a Pakistani military checkpost at Daraz Beet near Panjra Bridge in Bolan with a remote-controlled explosive device at around 7:10pm on Monday.
He claimed four personnel were killed at the scene and one was seriously injured.
According to Mazar Baloch, UBA fighters had continuously monitored routine military movements between the Daraz Beet and Panjra Bridge checkposts, gathering information about convoy movements and the transfer of personnel in the area.
The spokesperson said an improvised explosive device was planted at the checkpost while Frontier Corps personnel were absent and was later detonated after they returned, killing four personnel and injuring one.
Mazar Baloch said the UBA claimed responsibility for the attack, adding that such attacks would continue “until the establishment of an independent Balochistan.”
Pakistani authorities had not issued a statement on the attacks at the time of publication.
