The chairman of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), Nasrullah Baloch, has expressed concern over the reported enforced disappearance of a resident of Chagai District, calling for his immediate and safe recovery.
According to a statement issued by the organisation, Abdul Rauf son of Haji Abdul Razzaq, grandson of Malik Baz Mohammad and belonging to the Yousafzai tribe, was allegedly detained during the early hours of 29 May 2026 from the Aminabad area of Chagai district.
The organisation stated that personnel identified by the family as members of the Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (FC) and intelligence agencies arrived at approximately 3 a.m., took the 38-year-old farmer into custody and subsequently shifted him to an undisclosed location.
Family members say no information regarding his whereabouts has been provided since the incident, leaving relatives in what the organisation described as a state of severe mental distress and uncertainty.
In his statement, Nasrullah Baloch noted that Abdul Rauf had previously been subjected to enforced disappearance in September 2018. According to the organisation, he remained missing for nearly two and a half years before later returning home.
VBMP described the latest incident as a matter of serious concern not only for the family but also for human rights circles monitoring cases of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
The organisation further stated that Pakistan’s constitution guarantees every citizen the rights to liberty, security and due legal process, arguing that detaining an individual without producing them before a court constitutes a violation of constitutional protections and fundamental human rights.
VBMP called upon the authorities to immediately produce Abdul Rauf before a court and ensure his safe recovery. It added that if any allegations exist against him, he should be granted the full right to defend himself through legal proceedings in accordance with the law.
The organisation also appealed to the federal and provincial governments, the judiciary, human rights institutions and the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances to take immediate notice of the case and adopt practical measures to secure his recovery and address the continuing issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
Pakistani authorities had not issued any public response regarding the allegations at the time of publication.
