The body of an unidentified 18-year-old girl has been recovered from Jarhi in Khuzdar’s Nawa area, police sources said, days after the body of another young Baloch woman bearing signs of torture was found in Turbat.
According to police sources, the body was taken to the emergency department of Khuzdar Teaching Hospital. Police asked the girl’s relatives to contact the hospital to identify and receive the body.
Police had not released further details about the incident, while the girl’s identity and the circumstances surrounding her death remained unknown at the time of publication.
Earlier, 30-year-old Mahgul was reportedly abducted from her home in Kallag Sohrani on Sunday night, while her body was recovered in Turbat on Monday morning. Sources alleged that a government-backed armed group was involved in her abduction and killing.
All Parties Kech and Anjuman-e-Tajiran Kech later questioned the authorities’ handling of the case and demanded an immediate, impartial and transparent investigation into her killing.
“The abduction of a Baloch woman from her home, her killing and the dumping of her body cannot be treated merely as a criminal incident,” they said. “It amounts to an assault on the basic traditions, values and social sanctity of Baloch society.”
