The body of a schoolteacher was recovered in Pasni, Balochistan, on Wednesday, a day after he was allegedly detained by Pakistani forces in front of his family and taken to an undisclosed location.
The deceased was identified by family sources and Pasni police as Parvez, son of Mazar, an Arabic-language teacher at Government High School Babbar Shor. He originally belonged to Pedarak in Kech district.
According to local sources, Pakistani forces detained Parvez on Tuesday in the presence of his family members, who received no information about his whereabouts after he was taken away.
His body was recovered by local authorities on Wednesday and subsequently handed over to his family.
Pakistani authorities have not publicly commented on the allegations surrounding his detention and death.
Similar cases involving schoolteachers who were allegedly forcibly disappeared and subsequently found dead have been reported in other parts of Balochistan this year.
In August, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) reported that Hathim Baloch, a schoolteacher from Panjgur, had been found dead weeks after being allegedly abducted by state-backed armed groups from Washbood Main Bazaar.
Earlier, in January, the bodies of two men, including schoolteacher Ayaz Baloch, were recovered in the Berith area of Awaran district. Ayaz, originally from Kolwah in Kech, had reportedly been detained by Pakistani forces in October 2025 and remained missing until his body was found. His family alleged that he had been killed in custody.
In its six-month human rights report covering January to June 2026, the BYC documented 507 alleged enforced disappearances across Balochistan, including 135 students, teachers and researchers. The organisation alleged that 32 missing persons were killed in custody and their bodies subsequently dumped in different locations.
The report also documented killings involving academic and literary figures, including Professor Ghamkhwar Hayat, a Brahui-language writer, researcher and author who was shot dead in Nushki on May 16, and Baloch researcher Balach Khalid, who was killed in Turbat.

Following Professor Hayat’s killing, the Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) alleged that state-backed armed groups, locally known as “death squads,” were responsible. The organisation expressed concern over violence and repression targeting professors, intellectuals and members of academic institutions in Balochistan, and called for an independent investigation.
