Four men have reportedly been forcibly disappeared in different areas of Balochistan, while a young man from Karachi’s Lyari area has been recovered after nearly four months of alleged enforced disappearance.
According to reports, 25-year-old Waleed Baloch, son of Murad Bakhsh, was allegedly taken into custody by Pakistani forces from his home in Kaldan, Gwadar, at around midnight on October 9, 2026, and subsequently forcibly disappeared.
In a separate incident, 25-year-old Nisar Malang, son of Muhammad Ibrahim, was allegedly forcibly disappeared by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel at around 9 am on October 8 from Killi Sardar in Chagai district.
On the same day, 25-year-old Muhammad Asif, son of Khaliq Dad, was reportedly forcibly disappeared by FC personnel at around midnight from Killi Pir Muhammad, also in Chagai district.
Another man, 23-year-old Hafiz Zubair Ahmed, son of Hafiz Ali Ahmed, was allegedly forcibly disappeared by FC personnel at around 4 am on October 3 from Killi Haroon in Chagai.
Meanwhile, Shahzaib, son of Samad and a resident of Karachi’s Lyari area, was recovered on October 7, 2026, from Uthal in Lasbela district. He had allegedly been forcibly disappeared on June 1, 2026.
Enforced disappearances remain a longstanding issue in Balochistan, with families and rights groups accusing Pakistani forces and
intelligence agencies of detaining individuals and holding them incommunicado.
The Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) said in its monthly report that it documented 87 cases of enforced disappearance across Balochistan in August 2026.
Local rights organisations and families of missing persons have long argued that many cases are reported weeks, months or even years after the alleged disappearances due to fear, security concerns and pressure from various quarters. As a result, the full scale of the issue may not be immediately reflected in publicly available records.
