The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), an armed “pro-independence” group, has claimed responsibility for a grenade attack in Gwadar and the execution of two alleged Pakistani intelligence agents in Mastung.
In a statement on Wednesday, the BLA said its fighters targeted the office of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in Gwadar’s New Town area on November 16. The group claimed the attack caused “losses of life and property” among Pakistani forces.
The group also said it captured two men in Mastung earlier this month, accusing them of working as informants for Pakistani intelligence agencies.
The BLA said Abdul Rehman, a resident of Dera Murad Jamali, was arrested on November 10 in the Marao, Splinji area of Mastung. It claimed he confessed to being sent by Pakistani intelligence agencies to gather information while posing as a fundraiser.
The group alleged that Rehman had previously worked as an informant in Taftan, Noshki, and Mastung. It said he provided the names of others in his network during interrogation.
The second individual, Mohammad Noor, a resident of Punjab, was reportedly arrested on November 13. The BLA accused him of gathering intelligence in Splinji and surrounding areas for the Pakistani military. It said Noor had also worked as an informant in Sindh.
The group said both men were sentenced to death by what it called the “Baloch National Court.” It claimed the executions were carried out after the men were found guilty of espionage.
“Baloch Liberation Army accepts responsibility for the three aforementioned attacks. Our operations against the occupying Pakistani army and its collaborators will continue,” the statement said.
