Last night, unidentified attackers targeted a large Pakistani military camp in the suburban area of Wali Thangi, Quetta.

The assailants reportedly captured several posts within the camp, making away with military equipment and weapons before disappearing into the darkness. The direction of their retreat remains undisclosed.

Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the incident, reporting casualties that included one military personnel killed, with several others injured and dead. Additionally, the ISPR reported that three of the assailants were killed during the confrontation.

Following last night’s attack, military helicopters were reported in the Wali Thangi vicinity earlier today. However, details regarding the purpose and outcome of these operations remain undisclosed.

Historically, the region has seen several major attacks. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a Baloch “Pro-independence” group, has frequently orchestrated attacks in the Wali Thangi area, often targeting Pakistani military Personnel and security installations.

It’s important to note that an attack by BLA’s Special Tactical Operations Squad (STOS) on April 20, 2022, resulted in the death of Subedar Major Fazal Gull, along with several other casualties. As of the time of writing, no group has officially claimed responsibility for the recent attack.
