Students in Khuzdar held a peaceful march against the closure of the Digital Library, saying the decision had disrupted their studies and forced them to continue their educational activities along the roadside.

Students, teachers, and local residents participated in the march, which was organised to demand the protection of what the protesters described as their fundamental educational rights.

According to the students, the district administration locked the library’s main entrance following the march, while some participants were also subjected to alleged mistreatment.

The closure has forced students to sit and study outside the building along the roadside, a situation they described as “extremely regrettable and concerning”.

The protesters said they had no personal dispute with any individual or institution and stressed that their campaign was entirely peaceful.

“Our only demand is the protection of our legitimate and fundamental educational rights,” the students said.

They called on the Balochistan chief minister, the commissioner of Kalat Division and other relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the issue and ensure that educational activities at the library resume without interruption.

The students warned that they would stage a peaceful protest on the main highway the following day if their demands were not accepted, adding that the district administration would be responsible for any consequences arising from the continued closure.
