Unidentified gunmen opened fire at Zohra Baloch on Wednesday in Balochistan’s capital city of Quetta.

Zohra Baloch, the widow of slain Baloch student activist, Raza Jahangir, was shot by unidentified attackers in front of the University of Balochistan. Two attackers riding on a bike fired two bullets at Zohra — one bullet missed her while the other grazed her near the zygomatic bone.

Victim was rushed to the the hospital in injured condition. As per the sources, her condition is out of danger.

Slain Raza Jahangir was the secretary general of the Baloch Students Organisation (Azad), who was reportedly killed by the Pakistani law enforcement forces during a raid on the house of BNM leader Imdad Bujeer in Turbat, on August 14, 2013. Imdad Bujeer was also killed in that raid.

After today’s attack, many social and rights activists took to the twitter and condemned the attack. Some activists also accused Pakistani secret services for orchestrating the attack.

It is not the first time in Balochistan that the family member of an activist has been targeted. Previously, family members of numbers of Baloch activists have been target killed, arrested in “bogus cases” and forcibly disappeared. Baloch nationalists and “pro-independence” armed groups hold Pakistan army and its intelligence agencies responsible for such deeds.
