Civilians organized a massive protest against the Brewery road incident along with the dead body of the deceased Bilal Noorzai on Zarghoon road near the chief minister’s house in Quetta. The protestors condemned the killing and demanded that the vigilantes be immediately arrested and subjected to condign punishment.

According to The Balochistan Post news desk; hundreds of civilians and political figures organized a protest against the killing of Bilal Noorzai by a mob of vigilantes on Friday night on Brewery road. The protestors carried the dead body of the deceased along with the procession and demanded an instant trial on the incident.

Bilaal Noorzai, 23, was attacked by an angry mob of vigilantes at 8 p.m. on Friday in Brewery area. According to the eyewitnesses; roughly 300-400 people attacked Bilaal and his two other friends. The vigilantes dragged the three youths into a nearby salon, stripped them and ruthlessly beat them. When the police arrived at the spot, the mob showered them with stones—slightly wounding the SHO and the DSP. After a two-hour-long scuffle, the police eventually liberated the victims. Till then, Bilal had died, whereas his heavily wounded friends were transferred to the hospital in a critical state.

According to the SHO Brewery police station, Izzatullah Khan, the mob had attacked the youths based on the allegation of making videos of the woman in the area. The victims were moved to the Bolan Medical Hospital. According to the doctors, the victims bore bruises from batons and sticks and deep wounds from knives. The wounded were immediately shifted to the trauma centre of the hospital for further treatment.

According to a protestor; the violent mob inflicted “monstrosities” on the youths. The victims were “brutalized” whereas the deceased (Bilal) was “desecrated”. The police had allegedly not even attempted an aerial firing to scatter the mob and drive the attackers away from the victims.

According to the area police; eleven convicts were arrested in a raid and sued for various charges, including murder and an attempt to murder. The proprietor of the salon has also been enlisted for a legal proceeding but has not been arrested yet. The SHO ensured that further investigation is on its way and that the perpetrators and their accomplices will be arrested soon.

Zia Langove, the home minister of Balochistan, took notice and instructed the authorities to investigate the incident. He further said that no one is beyond the law and that the offenders will be certainly punished. The home minister further said that the SHO of the Brewery police station has been suspended for showing negligence on the issue.

Another protest was also organized in Turbat to condemn the murder of a woman the injuring of her daughter. According to sources; the miscreants had trespassed into the woman’s abode for burglary and had eventually killed her and wounded her daughter. Tens of protestors demanded an instant trial on the incident and demanded the immediate arrest of the central character of the plot, Sameer Sabzal. The protestors further said that the spurious condemnations will not discourage such crimes. Instead, political organizations and the government must initiate an effective movement against these offences.
