The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for an operation in the Barkhan district of Balochistan in which it said its fighters surrounded a police post and detained several individuals.
In a statement issued to the media, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said that fighters from the group surrounded a police post near the Dohla Nadi area of Barkhan on 21 February.
According to the statement, three police personnel stationed at the post were taken into custody and their official weapons were seized. The spokesperson said that after questioning, the officers were found not to be involved in activities against the organisation and were later released.
The BLF also claimed that during the same operation its fighters targeted a construction company located near the police post. The group said three employees of the company were taken into custody and remain in its detention while questioning is ongoing.
The group stated that it accepts responsibility for the takeover of the police post, the seizure of government-issued weapons and the detention of the construction company employees.
