The Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC) Turbat zone organized a protest rally in Turbat city of Kech district on Wednesday to demand the safe return of Sohail, Faseeh, and all missing Baloch individuals subjected to enforced disappearances.

The protest rally commenced at Atta Shad Degree College and proceeded to Shaheed Fida Ahmed Chowk. Participants carried banners bearing demands for the recovery of the missing persons and chanted slogans condemning enforced disappearances while calling for the safe return of those who have gone missing.

During the protest, speakers addressed the crowd and emphasized that enforced disappearances are in violation of international laws and the country’s constitution. They expressed concern about the increasing frequency of detentions of Baloch people, and the silence of state institutions in response. The protesters strongly condemned these actions, labeling them as “Baloch genocide,” and demanded that the missing persons be brought into the public eye and afforded the opportunity of a fair trial, in accordance with their constitutional rights.

BSAC leaders highlighted that enforced disappearances have evolved into a grave humanitarian crisis that has persisted for several decades. This ongoing tragedy has cast a shadow of uncertainty and insecurity over Baloch society, affecting every Baloch individual. The continuous rise in enforced disappearances underscores the failure of federal and provincial governments and institutions to address this human crisis seriously. On one hand, enforced disappearances of Baloch students are on the rise, and on the other hand, peaceful students are facing harassment and profiling by various administrative bodies, including educational institutions, BSAC activists said.
