According to the details, the encounter broke out in Gali area of Buleda where armed persons attacked a man named Jan Muhammad. The local sources told The Balochistan Post that Jan Muhammad had alleged ties with a state-backed group, locally known as death squads.

Baloch nationalists claim that the death squads are armed and backed by the Pakistani intelligence agencies. They say that these groups mostly comprise notorious criminals who are acquitted by the authorities and then recruited in these groups to do the state’s bidding — quelling the Baloch national struggle for independence and spying on the Baloch nationalists.

The Baloch pro-independence armed groups have attacked the alleged members of death squads several times in Balochistan. Two days ago, Ahmed s/o Basheer Ahmed was attacked in Panjgur. The Baloch Liberation Front later claimed responsibility for the attack. Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility of attacking Nadir and his accomplices in Tump, Kech, on September 1st.

Whereas, no organization has claimed responsibility for today’s attack.

In another news today, Baloch Republican Guards, a pro-independence armed group, claimed responsibility of attacking the Frontier Works Organization, a Pakistani military engineering organization, in Naseerabad district of Balochistan on Thursday, wounding a driver and destroying a roller machine.

Dostain Baloch, the spokesperson for the group, said in a media statement that the highway under construction is a state manoeuvre for plundering the resources of Balochistan and for several other ‘imperialistic resolves.’ We make it clear that we will attack every project or undertaking that deviates from the interests of the Baloch society, the spokesperson warned.
