Reports have emerged of two additional alleged enforced disappearances from Karachi and Turbat, while the protest camp organised by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances continued in Quetta for its 6,186th consecutive day on Saturday.

According to information received, Jamal, 41, son of Jalal and a resident of the Gutter Baghicha area of Old Golimar in Karachi, was reportedly taken into custody at approximately 2:30 a.m. on 28 May 2026 from the Ramzan Hotel in Hub Chowki. Family members allege that personnel from the Frontier Corps (FC), Military Intelligence (MI), and police were involved in the operation and subsequently transferred him to an undisclosed location. His whereabouts remain unknown.

In a separate incident, Ikram, 25, son of Shabbir and a resident of Josak in Turbat, Kech district, was reportedly detained by individuals identified by relatives as Pakistan’s Military Intelligence personnel while in Turbat’s main market on the evening of 24 May 2026. According to family members, he has not been seen since and remains missing.

Meanwhile, the protest camp established by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) outside the Quetta Press Club continued for its 6,186th day under the leadership of the organisation’s representative, Niaz Mohammad. Individuals and delegations from various sections of society reportedly visited the camp and expressed solidarity with the campaign against enforced disappearances.

Participants at the camp said that families of missing persons have endured years of uncertainty and psychological distress while reports of enforced disappearances continue to emerge. They called for the recovery of all missing persons and an end to the practice.

Speaking at the camp, VBMP Executive Committee member Niaz Mohammad described enforced disappearances as a serious human rights issue requiring urgent attention. He urged the authorities and relevant institutions to ensure the safe recovery of all missing persons and to address the concerns of affected families.
