The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for a series of armed attacks carried out across Balochistan during February 2026, stating that its fighters conducted 27 operations in 16 different areas of Balochistan.

In a statement issued to the media, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the group targeted Pakistani security forces, their affiliated institutions, and what it described as state-backed economic projects and defense installations. According to the group, the attacks resulted in the killing of 36 Pakistani military personnel and the serious injury of three others during the month.

Pakistani authorities have not commented on the figures.

Control of Washuk town

The BLF said its most significant operation took place in the town of Washuk, where it claimed its fighters surrounded the town and temporarily took control of key administrative locations.

According to the group, its fighters surrounded several government buildings, including the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the Superintendent of Police office, and a branch of the National Bank of Pakistan. The BLF said its fighters maintained control of parts of the town’s central market and administrative areas for several hours during the operation.

The group claimed that 13 security personnel were killed and several others injured during the Washuk operation. It also said its fighters seized weapons from the deceased personnel and set two military vehicles on fire.

Other attacks across Balochistan

The BLF statement said its fighters carried out additional operations in several districts, including Gwadar, Mand, Chaghi, Mashkay, Jhaoo, Awaran, Bulaida, Nal, Kharan, Pasni, Barkhan and Dasht.

The group claimed that its fighters attacked 11 military checkpoints in these areas and targeted a large military camp and an office of Pakistan’s Military Intelligence (MI) in Jhaoo using heavy weapons.

In another claimed operation in Gwadar, the BLF said it killed an alleged member of Military Intelligence whom it accused of involvement in intelligence activities against the group.

The group also said it destroyed four military vehicles using explosives and rockets in Washuk, Mand, and Chaghi, and damaged surveillance equipment installed by Pakistani forces in Mand.

Police stations and infrastructure targeted

According to the BLF, its fighters also briefly seized three police stations in Washuk, Nal, and Barkhan, where it said they confiscated government weapons and ammunition.

The group further claimed it targeted vehicles transporting minerals in the Wadh area, setting one vehicle on fire, and seized a supply shipment intended for Pakistani forces in the Zamuran region.

The BLF stated that during February operations its fighters used heavy weapons 11 times, carried out two improvised explosive device (IED) attacks in Chaghi and Jhaoo, launched two grenade attacks in Kharan, and conducted a hand grenade attack in Khuzdar. It also claimed to have ambushed two military convoys on roads in Jhaoo.

BLF casualties

The group said four of its fighters were killed in clashes with Pakistani forces during recent operations.

Those named included Hafiz Abdul Wahab, also known as Babar, whom the group said was killed in a clash with Pakistani forces on 6 December 2025 while traveling on an organizational mission.

The BLF also identified three fighters—Farooq Baloch (alias Sohrab), Adeel Baloch (alias Hameed Baloch), and Ahmed Baloch (alias Deedar)—who it said were killed during a clash with Pakistani forces on 25 January 2026 in the Tasp area of Panjgur.
