Two Baloch youths have gone missing from Karachi, the capital of Sindh, in what families fear are cases of enforced disappearance.

According to reports, Yasir Baloch, a resident of Malir, disappeared on the night between February 24 and 25, 2025, while returning home from Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Family sources state that Yasir, son of Sabzal Ali and a Media Sciences graduate student at Benazir Bhutto University, had met his friends in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and left for home around 10:30 pm. However, he never arrived and has been unreachable since.

His family suspects that Yasir has been forcibly disappeared, like many other Baloch students in recent years. They have appealed to authorities for his immediate recovery and urged human rights organizations to intervene.

In a separate incident, Pakistani forces allegedly detained Sabir, son of Ali Dost, a resident of the Greshag area of Khuzdar, from Lyari, Karachi, earlier this morning. Local sources report that he was taken into custody and moved to an unknown location, with no information on his whereabouts or condition.

Sabir’s family has demanded his immediate release and called on authorities to present him in court if any charges exist against him. They have also urged human rights organizations to speak out against enforced disappearances and help recover missing persons.

Enforced disappearances in Balochistan are not uncommon and continue to rise daily. Human rights activists and international rights organizations have long accused Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies of involvement in these disappearances and extrajudicial killings of Baloch people. Despite decades of outcry, the crisis remains unresolved and has intensified, with reports suggesting that three to four cases are now occurring every day.

The families of the missing individuals, alongside activists, continue to demand justice and accountability, calling for an end to the systematic targeting of Baloch youth.⁩
