Three customs officials were reportedly detained by armed individuals in Kharan, while two separate bridge explosions were reported in Mastung and the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for an attack on a gas pipeline in Sindh.
According to local sources, the incident involving the customs officials took place a day earlier in the Dali area of Kharan. The officials were reportedly taken into custody during a road blockade established by armed individuals.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the detention of the three customs officials.
In a separate development, two more link bridges on the Quetta-Karachi Highway were reportedly destroyed in explosions in Mastung district.
Sources said that on Tuesday evening and later at night, unidentified individuals targeted a bridge located on the national highway in the Reki Boz area of Khadkucha using explosive materials. The blast was reportedly powerful enough to damage the roofs of nearby houses, although no casualties were reported.
In a second incident, another link bridge near Choto Mal was also destroyed with explosive materials. Following the incidents, concerns were raised about potential disruptions to traffic on the Quetta-Karachi Highway.
Meanwhile, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for an attack on a gas pipeline in Sindh’s Kashmore district.
In a statement issued to the media, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said that the group’s fighters targeted a 36-inch main gas pipeline carrying gas from Sui to Karachi near Kandhkot on Tuesday night. According to the statement, explosive materials were planted on the pipeline, causing a blast that damaged the infrastructure.
The spokesperson claimed responsibility for the attack on behalf of the BRG and stated that such operations would continue until what the group described as the achievement of Balochistan’s independence.
There was no immediate statement from Pakistani authorities regarding the reported pipeline attack.
