A sub-inspector was targeted in a bomb blast in Gwadar’s tehsil Jevani on Wednesday, the sources have confirmed.

The explosion occured when a bomb fitted into a motorcyle went off near the sub-inspector’s house. A car parked in the vicinity was damaged, but no casualties were reported. The sub-inspector was the apparent target of the attack.

It is not yet known what incentivized the attack. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

A similar blast had occurred in Kharan a day earlier where 13 people were injured. The blast occurred at the Chief Chowk, a busy point in the Kharan bazar, when a bomb fitted into a bike went off. The blast caused significant damage to the vehicles parked nearby and wounding 13 passers-by. The wounded were moved to the Kharan civil hospital.

The police said that they are further investigating the incident. They estimated that 4 to 5 kilos of explosives were used in the blast.
