Renowned Baloch intellectual and political figure, Dr. Kahoor Khan Baloch passed away on Wednesday. Dr. Kahoor died of cardiac arrest in Karachi, family sources confirmed the news to media.

Dr. Kahoor Baloch had recently joined National Party (NP) and was serving as central secretary research of the party. Former Chief Minister and Chief of NP, Dr. Malik Baloch, Senator Tahir Bizenjo, and other party leaders have expressed grief over the demise of Dr. Kahoor.

Dr. Baloch was elected as the Chairman of Baloch Students Organization (BSO) in 1986 and played a key role in students’ politics. He belonged to the Shapuk area of district Kech.

After completion of education, Dr. Kahoor had joined the government service as a section officer in the civil secretariat. He served as secretary of social welfare and remained in other key positions in the government of Balochistan.

Many Baloch political leaders and circles have paid rich tribute to Dr. Kahoor Khan Baloch for his struggle for the rights of Baloch peoples.
