Balochistan Liberation Front has claimed its fighters were behind a deadly attack on a notorious death-squad ringleader.

In a statement released yesterday, the most active armed group in Balochistan, the BLF, said that its fighters targeted Kamran alias Kamoo in Panjgur with an improvised explosive device fitted on a motorbike.

A strong bomb ripped through Kamran Mengal’s vehicle yesterday in Panjgur, killing his younger brother Suleman. Kamran and several of his accomplices were badly injured in the attack. He was then moved to Karachi for further treatment.

According to local sources, Kamran heads a pro-Pakistani militia in Panjgur, which is active against pro-independence Baloch activists.

Many pictures of Kamran have appeared on social media with armed persons in civilians cloths holding Pakistani flags. The vehicle that was targeted yesterday also hoisted a Pakistani flag.

The local sources revealed to The Balochistan Post that Kamran was flown in a military aircraft to Karachi for further treatment after yesterday’s attack.

BLF, in its statement, alleged that Kamran is right-hand man of Shafeeq Mengal in the region. Shafeeq Mengal, head of another private militia, is a Islamic extremist and was openly supported by Pakistani Army.

BLF said that their attacks on such groups will continue.

BLF also expressed remorse on injuries sustained by passersby.

Khuzdar Attack

Jeehand Baloch, the spokesman of Baloch Liberation Army, has taken responsibility for a bomb attack in Khuzdar.

A powerful blast rocked Khuzdar city yesterday on the scheduled route of a rally.

Jeehand Baloch said in a statement released to the media that the target of attack was a pro-Pakistani rally organised by members of a death-squad.

Mr. Baloch vowed that attacks on such demonstrations and groups will continue.
