The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) on Thursday claimed six Pakistani military personnel were killed during a highway blockade in Sibi and said one of its fighters was also killed, while armed fighters blew up a police station in a separate attack in Chagai.

In a statement, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said its fighters blockaded the main highway in Sibi’s Mithri area from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. and searched vehicles.

The BRG said Pakistani forces attempted to advance during the blockade, prompting a prolonged clash. It claimed six military personnel were killed at the scene and several others wounded.

Fighters also took control of a nearby police post after its personnel fled, the spokesperson said. He added that they seized equipment and motorcycles and set the post on fire.

The group identified its fighter killed in the clash as Asghar, son of Abdul Hameed, a resident of Kachhi. It said he joined the BRG in 2025 and had taken part in its armed activities in Kachhi, Dhadar, Sanni, Bolan and Sibi.

The spokesperson paid tribute to the slain fighter and said the organisation would continue its armed campaign until Balochistan achieved independence.

“Our operations of this kind will continue until Balochistan achieves complete independence,” he said.

Meanwhile, in Chagai district, armed fighters seized the Yakmach police station early Thursday morning and destroyed the building with explosives.

According to police officials, the attackers took control of the station at around 4 a.m., planted a large quantity of explosives and blew it up. The building was completely destroyed, but no casualties were reported.

Armed men also shot and destroyed several security cameras in Yakmach Bazaar. No group had claimed responsibility for the Yakmach attacks at the time of reporting.

The attack comes amid a series of recent attacks in Yakmach and surrounding areas. On October 5, armed fighters blocked the Quetta–Taftan highway in the area and set fire to a National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office. The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) later claimed responsibility for the operation.
