A man was killed in a reported shelling incident in the Drakhalaw-Gaslaiti area of Wadh, Khuzdar, on Thursday, according to local residents.
Sources said the deceased was identified as Abdul Qadir. Residents alleged that the shelling was carried out by Pakistani forces and that several other people, including women, children and elderly individuals, sustained injuries.
Following the incident, local residents staged a sit-in protest on a highway, placing the body of the deceased at the protest site.
Speaking during the demonstration, protesters alleged that the shelling began at around 8:00 am and struck a populated area in Wadh’s Gaslaiti-Drakhalaw locality. They demanded an impartial investigation into the incident and called for those responsible to be held accountable.
Protesters stated that the sit-in would continue until a transparent inquiry is conducted into the incident.
By the time of filing this report, the protest was ongoing, with men, women, children and elderly residents participating in the demonstration alongside the body of the deceased.
