A detained leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), Syed Bibi Baloch, has reportedly been on a hunger strike for the past two days at Central Jail Turbat, according to information received from the prison and her family.
Family members said Syed Bibi Baloch began the hunger strike in protest against what they described as violations of her constitutional rights and her treatment while in custody.
According to her relatives, Syed Bibi Baloch was already experiencing health issues prior to the hunger strike, and they have expressed concern that her condition may have deteriorated further as a result of the protest.

The family has called on the relevant authorities to take notice of the situation, address the concerns raised by the detainee and ensure that she receives appropriate medical care.
Syed Bibi Baloch has been held at Central Jail Turbat since 3 July 2026 under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) law.
At the time of reporting, prison authorities had not publicly commented on the family’s concerns regarding her health or the reported hunger strike.
