A police officer and a tribal leader abducted by unidentified armed men in Balochistan’s Chagai district last month have been freed, local sources confirmed on Saturday.
The men were identified as Gul Shah Muhammad Hasni, who was serving as acting station house officer (SHO) in Chagai, and tribal leader Zahoor Shah.
According to local sources, Hasni was abducted by armed men from Chagai on September 19, while Zahoor Shah was also reported among those abducted.
Chagai police confirmed that Hasni had returned home safely on Saturday. However, details surrounding the circumstances of their release were not immediately available.
The development comes amid a series of abductions involving police and senior administrative officials across Balochistan in recent months, some of whom have subsequently returned home.
