The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has launched a pamphlet campaign in Quetta, Turbat and other areas across Balochistan against enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings and what it calls “faceless trials” of its detained leaders.

The BYC Quetta Zone distributed pamphlets in several commercial and residential areas of the city, including Killi Qambrani, Sariab, Brewery Road and Liaquat Bazaar.

The group said the campaign was aimed at informing the public about the detention of its leaders for more than 14 months and judicial proceedings it described as “secret and faceless.”

In the pamphlet, the BYC said human rights violations in Balochistan had continued for years and alleged that people were being targeted over their Baloch identity.

It accused Pakistani authorities of using enforced disappearances, “fake encounters” and forced press conferences to suppress political voices and create narratives against Baloch activists.

“Even today, a specific narrative is being formed by declaring Baloch political leaders foreign agents or violence-oriented, so that they can be kept in prisons illegally,” the pamphlet said.

The BYC said its leadership was being criminalised because of its campaign against enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings.

The group said the use of “faceless trials” violated the right of its detained leaders to an open and transparent hearing.

The pamphlet appealed to the public to join the BYC platform and “become the voice” of the detained leaders.
