At least seven Baloch women were injured and six people were arrested after Iranian forces dispersed a protest against the operation of a chromite mine in Faryab County of Kerman Province, according to Haalvsh.
Haalvsh, a media outlet that documents incidents in western (Iran-administered) Balochistan, said the incident took place on Wednesday in Pushmuki village, where residents had gathered to protest over the allocation and operation of the local chromite mine.
According to the outlet, the protesters said indigenous communities had been excluded from the economic benefits of the mine and had not been adequately consulted over mining concessions and operational rights.
Haalvsh reported that Iranian military personnel used batons and physical force to disperse the gathering, injuring several women at the scene.
The outlet identified the injured women as Soraya Hoth, 29; Masoumeh Hoth, 27; Mina Hoth, 17; Dorokhatun Hoot, 36; Safieh Bamari, 30; Mahnoor Bamari, 34; and Bibi Naz Bamari, 40.
According to Haalvsh, six people were arrested during the crackdown, including three women.
The detained individuals were identified as Marzieh Hoth, 28; Mah Bibi Hoth, 37; Samia Bamari, 32; Ali Bakhsh Bamari, 46; Reza Baig Bamari, 43; and Anwar Hoot, 40.
They were transferred to an undisclosed location after their arrest, the outlet said, adding that no official information had been released regarding their condition or legal status.
Local sources cited by Haalvsh said the protest was part of wider grievances over mining concessions in the area, with residents saying local communities had been denied a fair share in the benefits of natural resources extracted from their lands.
The Pushmuki protest followed similar demonstrations in recent days in parts of western Balochistan and neighbouring areas over resource distribution, land use and economic marginalisation.
Haalvsh has reported several recent confrontations between Iranian forces and local protesters in disputes linked to mining and land use.
Iranian authorities have not issued an immediate statement on the reported injuries, arrests or the allegations regarding the dispersal of the protest.
