The Baloch Republican Army (BRA) said on Wednesday it had attacked vehicles, machinery and an OGDCL convoy in Pakistan’s Sindh province and killed an alleged informer in Balochistan’s Kalat district.
BRA spokesperson Sarbaz Baloch said fighters attacked trailers, machinery and employees of what he called an “exploitative company” parked at Dera Mor Chowk in Kashmore district late on Tuesday with automatic weapons and hand grenades.
He claimed several company employees and police personnel were injured and machinery was damaged.
The group said it later targeted an Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) convoy with a remote-controlled explosive device near the same location on Wednesday morning as it was heading towards Dera Bugti district in Balochistan.
The BRA said OGDCL had begun survey work in Dera Bugti for what it described as the “looting of Baloch national resources” and warned companies involved in exploration and extraction to stop work and leave the area.
The group said it would intensify attacks for the “protection of national resources” if such work continued.
In the same statement, the BRA claimed responsibility for killing Mustafa, son of Bahar Rind, in Kalat’s Narmuk area on June 11.
It described Mustafa as a “state informer” and alleged that he had assisted Pakistani forces during a military operation against a BRA camp in Narmuk in October 2016.
The group alleged that the 2016 operation resulted in the killing of Mubarak, son of Jana Bugti, and the enforced disappearance of several people, including women and children.
Pakistani authorities, police and OGDCL have not issued an immediate statement on the BRA’s claims.
