The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for two separate attacks targeting Pakistani military personnel and infrastructure in Balochistan’s Panjgur and Kech districts.

In a statement issued to the media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s fighters carried out an attack on January 11 in the Katagari area of Panjgur, where Pakistani military foot patrol personnel were targeted with a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED). According to the statement, the explosion resulted in the deaths of two soldiers at the scene.

The spokesperson further claimed that in a second incident, BLA fighters on Tuesday targeted a military-installed tower along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route in the Dasht area of Kunri, Kech district. The statement said explosives were used to destroy the tower, along with surveillance cameras mounted on it.

Jeeyand Baloch alleged that following the attack, Pakistani forces attempted to advance toward the area but were forced to retreat. He added that the military subsequently fired multiple mortar shells from a distance in different directions. The spokesperson claimed that BLA fighters withdrew safely from the area as part of what he described as a “planned operation.”

The BLA said it accepts responsibility for both attacks.
