Five people have been abducted by armed men in Jhal Magsi district, while 11 workers kidnapped from a construction company’s camp in Dukki have been recovered and reached a safe location.
The workers were among 12 abducted from the SMC Construction Company camp in the Pulri area of Nana Sahib Ziarat. The body of one of the abducted workers was recovered a few days ago from Nāhar stream in the Kohlu area. The remaining 11 were recovered on Friday.
Police said at the time of the abduction that around 40 to 45 armed men stormed the camp, checked workers’ identity cards and took 12 of them away. Ten were from Punjab, one was a local resident and another was from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The company’s security guard was killed in the attack and two people, including a passer-by, were wounded, according to police. The attackers also set fire to heavy machinery and four vehicles.
Meanwhile, armed men stopped a vehicle in the Base Camp area on Noorani Road in Jhal Magsi and abducted all five people travelling in it.
According to Jhal Magsi police, the five were travelling from Noorani to Gandawah when they were abducted along with their vehicle.
Three are local residents reportedly belonging to the Khosa and Magsi tribes, while the other two were their guests visiting from Larkana.
The motive behind the Jhal Magsi abduction remained unknown.
