Similar incidents have been reported across Balochistan over the years, with unidentified bodies recovered from roadsides, deserted areas and other locations. Some of those bodies were later identified as belonging to individuals who had previously been reported missing. Families of missing persons and human rights groups have frequently alleged that some of the deceased were victims of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings.
