Reports have emerged from Balochistan’s Kech district of a young man going missing after being taken into custody.
The individual, identified as Imran, son of Nadil, was reportedly detained during a raid at his home late on Tuesday night.
According to local sources, the incident took place at around 4 a.m., when an armed group said to be aligned with Pakistani security forces — referred to locally as a “death squad” — allegedly raided the home of Nadil, son of Hayat. The group is reported to have taken Imran into custody and moved him to an undisclosed location.
Family members and local contacts say there has been no information regarding Imran’s whereabouts since he was taken. Relatives stated that his wedding had been scheduled to take place the following day.
Human rights groups have long expressed concern over cases of individuals allegedly disappearing after being detained by Pakistani forces in Balochistan. According to rights organisations, numerous incidents are reported in which civilians are taken by law-enforcement forces or armed militias, after which their families lose contact with them.
