Two Baloch “pro-independence” armed groups said on Monday they carried out multiple attacks in Kech, Kalat and Sibi districts, claiming to have killed a Pakistani soldier, executed an alleged informant and targeted a Frontier Corps cantonment, while Pakistan’s military reported a separate operation on Nov. 1 in which it said four militants were killed.

Major Gwahram Baloch, spokesperson for the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), said in a statement that the group’s fighters were patrolling the mountainous Dezeeg, Gomazi area on the evening of Nov. 9 when Pakistani forces launched an ambush.

He said BLF fighters “retaliated in accordance with guerrilla tactics” and withdrew safely after a half-hour clash in which one Pakistani soldier was killed and another injured.

In a separate development, the BLF said it had arrested a man identified as Ismail, son of Nazir, on Oct. 17 in Mand, accusing him of spying for Pakistani armed forces. The group alleged Ismail was linked to a “state informant network” and had made repeated visits to a military camp and Military Intelligence (MI) office.

The statement said Ismail “confessed” during interrogation to involvement in the targeted killing of a Baloch man named Muhammad, son of Razai. It added that he provided information about other alleged informants, which the organization claims to have documented.

The BLF said its “judicial department” sentenced Ismail to death for espionage and involvement in killings, and that fighters executed him on Nov. 2 in the Aapsar Kaur area of Mand.

The group said BLF fighters also targeted a buzzer vehicle near the Marjan Toll Plaza in Kalat at around 1 p.m. on Nov. 10, causing damage to the vehicle.

Meanwhile, Dostain Baloch, spokesperson for the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG), said fighters attacked the Frontier Corps cantonment near the hospital in Sibi late on Sunday.

He said fighters fired rocket rounds and used modern weapons, claiming the attack caused heavy personnel and material losses. The BRG said its operations would continue until the “liberation of Balochistan.”

Pakistani authorities had not issued a response to the claims by Baloch armed groups at the time of publication.

However, in a separate announcement on Monday, the Pakistani military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said troops had carried out an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district on the night of Nov. 1.

ISPR said forces engaged a group of suspected militants and killed four individuals it described as being linked to an “India-backed group.” ISPR said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site and that follow-up “sanitisation operations” were continuing under the Azm-e-Istehkam counterterrorism framework.
