Armed individuals have reportedly established checkpoints and conducted vehicle inspections in several districts of Balochistan, while separate reports from Nushki indicate that armed men entered the city and allegedly seized weapons from police personnel.
According to local sources, armed individuals set up a checkpoint in the Dali area of Kharan, where vehicles travelling through the area were being stopped and searched.
Similar reports were received from the Dasht-e-Goran area of Kalat, where armed individuals were said to have established a checkpoint and were conducting snap checks on vehicles along the Quetta–Karachi highway.
In Surab, sources reported the presence of armed individuals at a roadside checkpoint, where both men and women were reportedly seen among those participating in the operation.
Meanwhile, in Nushki, armed individuals reportedly entered the city and opened fire outside a private bank. Local sources said the firing disabled one of the bank’s security cameras, although no casualties or injuries were reported.
The armed men later moved towards Tariq Chowk in the city’s main market, where they allegedly seized weapons from two police personnel before leaving the area.
Following the incident, businesses across the market reportedly shut down, while a heavy deployment of Pakistani armed forces was later observed in the city.
No group had claimed responsibility for the reported activities, and authorities had not issued an official statement regarding the incidents at the time of reporting.
Such incidents have become increasingly frequent in parts of Balochistan amid a long-running insurgency involving Baloch nationalist armed groups and Pakistani military and law-enforcement forces. Baloch armed groups have periodically established temporary checkpoints on highways, carried out vehicle inspections and launched attacks on security installations, particularly in districts including Kalat, Nushki, Kech, Kharan and Mastung.
The latest reports come amid heightened security activity across the region. Recent weeks have seen continued clashes, military operations and attacks targeting both security personnel and state infrastructure.
