The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has strongly condemned the recent drone strike in North Waziristan that resulted in the deaths of children and civilians, calling it a clear act of Pashtun genocide.

In a statement released to the media, BYC denounced the attack on civilian homes, describing the incident as part of a broader pattern of state violence and military brutality that has plagued Pashtun regions for decades. “This is not an isolated event or a case of collateral damage,” the committee stated. “We consider this a systematic and deliberate genocide against the Pashtun people, which cannot be justified under any pretext or ambiguous explanation.”

Drawing a parallel to the situation in Balochistan, the committee said that the same policy of state-sponsored violence and ethnic suppression is being replicated across Pashtun territories. “Just as the state is actively pursuing a policy of Baloch genocide in Balochistan, similar brutal tactics are being employed in Pashtun regions,” the statement read.

The BYC emphasized that oppressed ethnic groups across the region, including Baloch and Pashtun communities, are facing intense state repression marked by enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and violent military operations under the guise of security measures. “Drone attacks and mortar shelling on civilian populations have become routine operations, representing blatant violations of human rights,” they added.

The committee concluded by calling for unity among all oppressed nationalities in Pakistan, urging them to come together and resist state repression through collective struggle. “Only through united resistance and the power of the people can this oppressive system be dismantled,” the statement declared.

The incident has sparked outrage among human rights activists and political observers, who have long criticized the use of drone warfare and heavy-handed military tactics in civilian areas in Pakistan.
