At least seven people have reportedly been forcibly disappeared, allegedly by Pakistani forces, from various parts of Balochistan, triggering widespread protests across the region.

According to reports, two individuals—Muzir, son of Nazir, and Jassim, son of Ahmed—were forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces from the Saidan area of Panjgur late last night. In response, families of the missing have staged a sit-in protest, blocking roads in Saidan and halting all traffic to demand the immediate release of their loved ones.

Protesters block a road in Panjgur, demanding the release of Muzir Nazir and Jassim Ahmed.

In Khuzdar district, protests are also underway as families demand the recovery of forcibly disappeared individuals. In a recent raid in Zehri Tarasani, Pakistani forces attempted to detain Mohammad Saleem, son of Rustam Khan, while he was tending to his cattle. However, resistance from the family and local residents prevented the abduction.

Despite this intervention, Saleem’s family fears he remains at risk of abduction. The relatives have warned that the state will be held accountable if any harm comes to him. Notably, 12 individuals have been forcibly disappeared from Khuzdar tehsil in recent days, with families staging roadblocks to demand their release.

In Turbat, similar incidents have sparked further unrest. Pakistani forces reportedly raided homes in New Bahman Dannuk at around 2 a.m., detaining Bilal Baloch, son of Haider Ali, and Ismail Baloch, son of Hair Mohammad. Both individuals were taken to an undisclosed location.

Bilal Baloch, forcibly disappeared from Turbat.

The enforced disappearances in Turbat have led to widespread protests. Women, children, and youth blocked the Turbat-Quetta M-8 CPEC Highway near Shapuk, demanding the release of Munir Ahmed, Shakeel Rind, and Sheyhaq Gulam Qadir, who were detained on January 12, 2025.

Protesters claim these individuals were arrested near the Dukram cattle market and have not been seen since. The demonstrators have vowed to continue the highway blockade until their demands are met.

Seven additional families, whose loved ones have also been forcibly disappeared, have joined the protests, further amplifying the demonstrations. The families accuse local authorities of ignoring their pleas and have pledged to continuetheir sit-ins until their missing relatives are safely recovered.
