Five people, including two teenagers, have reportedly been forcibly disappeared from Balochistan’s Gwadar, Quetta and Surab districts, while three previously disappeared persons from Panjgur have been released, local sources and families said.

Arif, son of Yaseen and a resident of Dasht Sholeeg in Kech district, was reportedly detained while working as a labourer in the Paleri area of Gwadar.

Family sources said Arif had travelled to Paleri for work when plainclothes personnel alleged to be from Pakistani intelligence agencies took him away.

The family said it had received no information about him since the incident and that authorities had not officially acknowledged his detention.

Meanwhile, the disappearance of 18-year-old student Naseer Baloch was reported several months after he was allegedly detained in Quetta.

According to sources, Naseer, son of Mehrab Khan and a resident of Sariab Road, was detained by personnel from the Inter-Services Intelligence and Counter Terrorism Department at around 2:00am on March 27, 2026.

He has remained missing since then, the sources added.

Naseer, son of Mehrab Khan

Local sources said many enforced disappearance cases in Balochistan are reported late because affected families are initially intimidated and pressured into silence.

Another teenager, identified as 15-year-old Aziz Baloch, son of Mohammad Sultan and a resident of Killi Hussainabad near Awami Pump on Sariab Road in Quetta, was detained by ISI and CTD personnel at around 12:30am on July 23 and subsequently forcibly disappeared.

Aziz Baloch works as a rickshaw driver. Sources said he has been subjected to enforced disappearance for the second time.

Two further cases were reported from Surab, where Khalil Ahmed, son of Mohammad Noor, and Gul Mohammad, son of Mohammad Jan, were detained by FC and military personnel from their home at around 5:00pm on July 12.

Both men are labourers and were later moved to an undisclosed location, sources said.

Amid the latest disappearances, three men forcibly disappeared from Panjgur on July 13 were released ten days later.

They were identified as Salman Baloch, son of Mohammad Anwar; Zubair, son of Ismail; and Nabeel Baloch, son of Nazeer.

Salman and Zubair were released in Quetta on July 23, while details surrounding Nabeel’s release, including the location where he was released, were not immediately known.

Pakistani authorities had not issued a statement regarding the latest reported disappearances or releases at the time of publication.
