The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), a “pro-independence” armed group, claims to have carried out 284 armed operations in 2024, resulting in the deaths of 316 “enemy personnel.” According to the group, the attacks targeted Pakistani forces, alleged collaborators, construction companies, and military installations.

In its annual report for 2024, the BLF stated that the operations included 24 sniper attacks, 32 ambushes, 23 grenade attacks, and 10 improvised explosive device (IED) attacks. It added that 195 more assaults were directed at military camps, checkpoints, and other installations.

The group claimed that 280 military personnel were killed and 167 injured, suggesting that the actual casualty figures could be even higher. The group further claimed that 36 “collaborators” were killed, more than 14 “enemy personnel” were captured—including two Frontier Corps personnel—and 34 weapons were seized.

The BLF said eight military vehicles were destroyed, with others rendered inoperable by heavy fire. It also claimed to have shot down four surveillance drones and destroyed surveillance cameras at multiple locations.

The report alleged that five trucks, three bulldozers, three trailers, a tractor, two dumper vehicles, and a tanker were set ablaze,, and that five more trailers and 14 trucks were damaged by gunfire. The group added that more than 27 vehicles belonging to the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) were rendered inoperable and 19 mobile towers were destroyed.

The BLF paid tribute to 16 of its fighters who it said were killed during the year. Describing them as “national martyrs,” the group said their sacrifices were made in defense of Balochistan and its “freedom struggle.” The report referred to these sacrifices as “a golden chapter in history” that would inspire future generations in their resistance against “occupying forces.”
