The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) have separately claimed highway blockades and attacks on Pakistani forces in Balochistan, with the BRG claiming six personnel were killed in Kachhi and Naseerabad.
BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said fighters from the group’s Karima Armed Assault Division (KAAD) blocked the Quetta-Karachi Highway in Dasht-e-Goran, Kalat, on September 29, checking vehicles along the route from around midday until 5pm.
The BLF said KAAD fighters had blocked the same highway in Lakhori, Khuzdar, on September 26, checking vehicles between 2pm and 5pm. It added that the fighters remained near the highway until around 8pm and faced no confrontation with Pakistani forces during that operation.
The blockades follow earlier operations carried out by the newly formed female unit in Jusak, near Turbat, on September 22 and Manguchar on September 25. The BLF described the Jusak convoy ambush as KAAD’s first operation, claiming nine military personnel were killed in that attack and subsequent clashes during the Manguchar highway blockade.
Meanwhile, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said its fighters targeted two military vehicles with heavy and automatic weapons near Chitri on the Dhadar-Sanni Road in Kachhi, claiming five personnel were killed and several others wounded. He added that a quadcopter being used to monitor the convoy was also shot down.
The BRG also claimed an attack on a Pakistani forces checkpoint in Notal, Naseerabad, saying one member of the forces was killed and several others wounded.
The group had recently claimed attacks on Khattan Police Station in Kachhi and railway tracks in Naseerabad and Sindh’s Khairpur district. Police said the station was reduced to rubble, while local reports confirmed damage to the Naseerabad track and the suspension of rail services.
Pakistani authorities did not immediately issue a response to the latest claims.
