Two major “pro-independence” Baloch armed groups, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), have claimed responsibility for multiple attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and infrastructure in Balochistan.

In a media statement on Wednesday, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s fighters targeted Pakistani military camps and personnel involved in operations in Mastung in a series of coordinated attacks.

“Last night, Baloch Liberation Army warriors attacked the camp of the occupying Pakistani Army in Splinji, Mastung,” Jeeyand Baloch said. “The warriors launched several rocket attacks and targeted the enemy forces with heavy weapons.”

He claimed that one Pakistani soldier was killed and at least four others were injured during the attack.

In a separate attack on Monday, BLA fighters reportedly targeted Pakistani troops with a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) as they advanced in the Splinji area for an operation. “As a result of the explosion, two on-foot personnel of the occupying army were injured,” the spokesperson stated.

Later that night, BLA fighters fired grenade launchers at security posts near a Pakistani military camp in Mastung city. According to the group, at least three soldiers were injured in the explosions.

Jeeyand Baloch said these attacks were part of the group’s ongoing campaign against what they describe as “occupying enemy forces” in Balochistan.

In a separate statement, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for three attacks in Barkhan, Turbat, and Zamuran. BLF spokesperson Major Gwharam Baloch said the attacks targeted mobile communication towers and security forces.

The group claimed that on September 7, BLF fighters destroyed a Ufone mobile tower in the Mari Wall area of Barkhan by setting it on fire. It also said a grenade attack on an FC checkpoint in Daki Bazaar, Absar, Turbat, on August 30 injured two Frontier Corps personnel.

Additionally, the BLF said its fighters destroyed an internet tower in the Dashtak area of Zamuran, seizing solar panels and batteries from the site.

Gwharam Baloch reiterated the group’s commitment to what he described as an “armed struggle” for an independent Balochistan, saying the BLF would continue its operations against “military personnel, installations, and communication infrastructure.”
