Four individuals from Turbat and Quetta have been released and reached their homes while two individuals reportedly disappeared from the Dera Bugti and Noshki districts of Balochistan.
According to reports, Nasram, son of Peer Baksh, and Parwez Ghani, who were forcibly detained from Balochistan’s Buleda area, have been released and have safely reached their homes.
It should be noted that last week, Nasram’s and Parwez’s families held a sit-in demonstration for five days in front of Deputy Commissioner Kech’s office for the safe recovery of both detainees. After the assurance of the district administration, the protest ended. Today, their families have confirmed their recovery.
Another young Baloch student, Farooq, son of Sakhi Dad, resident of the Tejaban area of Balochistan’s Kech district, who was forcibly disappeared a few weeks ago from the A-one area of Quetta city, was released on Thursday. Subsequently, Farooq’s family took part in protests of the families of missing persons and also held a demonstrative rally in Quetta for the safe recovery of their loved one. A large number of people participated in the protest rally.
Moreover, a missing man, Rasool Baksh, son of Nek Muhammad, was also released at midnight on the 12th of June and safely returned to his home. Rasool Baksh was forcibly disappeared on the 16th of May 2024, from the Mari Poor area of Karachi.
However, despite these positive outcomes, the issue of forced disappearances continues in every corner of Balochistan, as two more fell victim to forced disappearances.
On Wednesday, Pakistani forces allegedly disappeared a man named Jafar, son of Malhar, from Dera Bugti city of Balochistan.
In another incident, sources confirmed that on the 19th of June 2024, during a raid, Pakistani forces allegedly forcibly detained Amanullah, son of Abdullah, after the arrest from the Kili Jamaldini area of the Noshki district.
The victim’s family said that Amanullah has not been produced in any court, due to which they are worried about his safety. They appealed to political and social activists and Human Rights Organizations to raise their voices and play an active role in the safe recovery of Amanullah.
Meanwhile, the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) camp completes its 5478th day in front of Quetta Press Club.
Muhammad Rafiq Khosa Baloch, a member of the National Party, Rahim Bakhsh Baloch, Shah Baloch, and others visited the camp to express their solidarity with the families of the victims.
Mama Qadeer Baloch, Vice Chairman of the VBMP said that the forced disappearances and killing dumping situation in Balochistan is a question mark on the claims and declarations of the United Nations, Human Rights Organizations, and international laws. Despite the approval of the International Charter of Human Rights and several declarations related to human rights, the Baloch genocide, the deprivation of rights of the Baloch people, and the forced detentions and martyrdom of Baloch people in broad daylight have not stopped for the last six decades.
He further said that Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International reporters have revealed the heinous role of the Pakistani state in Balochistan and have clarified the evidence of forcible detentions and martyrdom of thousands of Baloch people by Pakistan. “In September 2013, the United Nations Working Group also highlighted the genocidal operations of the occupying army in Balochistan”, He added.
