A 19-year-old patient from Qila Saifullah, being treated for the Congo virus at Fatima Jinnah General and Chest Hospital in Quetta, has died, hospital officials reported on Wednesday.
The patient, Jumma Dad, was admitted to the hospital and placed under intensive care after his blood tests returned positive for the Congo virus the previous day. Despite the medical team’s efforts, Jumma Dad succumbed to the virus.
This recent death brings the total number of fatalities due to the Congo virus in Balochistan this year to three, according to hospital records.
