Heavy causalities to Pakistani forces have been reported after an attack on a military convoy near Panjgur.

According to details obtained by The Balochistan Post, the convoy of Pakistani forces, which were deployed for security of China Pakistani Economic Corridor (CPEC), came under heavy attack in Goran, between Panjgur and Balgatar. At least one vehicle was completely destroyed in the attack.

The attackers used heavy weaponry including RPGs and automatic weapons.

Sources from the area have reported heavy losses to Pakistani security forces

Local administration has also confirmed the incident, however, they refrained from disclosing details of any casualities.

Personnel on security of China funded multi-billion dollar project, CPEC, have continuously been attacked by different Baloch organisations in the region.

In one such attack in September, a senior official of Pakistan Army, Lt. Colonel Aamir Waheed was killed, whereas, another senior official and FC Commandant of Panjgur, Colonel Shahjee Ullah was critically injured. Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), headed by a medical doctor turned fighter Dr. Allah Nazar, had claimed responsibility for the attack.

No organisation has claimed responsibility for today’s attack at the time of filing this report.
