Three individuals were reportedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces, while five others have been released in different areas of Balochistan. These incidents occur amid ongoing protests against “enforced disappearances” and “extrajudicial killings” throughout Balochistan.

In the district of Nushki, Balach, son of Naseer Ahmed Badini, a student from Killi Sharif Khan, was taken into custody at around 2 AM on December 9 during a house raid. In a related incident, Naseer Badini, from the same locality, was also detained and allegedly subjected to severe torture before being taken away.

In the Kalat district, another case emerged with the forced disappearance of Aido, son of Hayat Khan from Narmuk Kalat, in the area of Mangocher.

In a contrasting development, five individuals previously disappeared were released and returned to their homes. These include Diljan, Shah Hussain, and Yasir from Gwadar, who were released near Surbandan, along with Sabir, son of Abdul Hameed from Turbat, and Naseebullah Bangulzai from Mastung.

These incidents coincide with an ongoing Long March in Balochistan, a significant movement drawing attention to and demanding action against “enforced disappearances” and “extrajudicial killings.” Having recently reached Khuzdar, the march is proceeding towards Quetta and has garnered substantial public support, highlighting the region’s escalating human rights concerns.
